Periodontal Exams and Treatment

Most dental offices focus on treating teeth. At Essex Family Dental, we are proud to provide you with complete oral health. Our standard of care includes complete periodontal charting every year. This allows us to monitor any evidence of periodontal disease. Early intervention in Periodontal disease is the best way to prevent long term damage and early tooth loss. Our office provides complete scaling and root planing along with the use of the latest antibiotic agents that allow for faster healing in the more difficult areas.

Insurance

Our business office will submit primary and secondary insurance claims for you- subject to your having given us current insurance information prior to the service being provided.

Policy coverage varies from one insurance plan to another, as do the "usual, customary and reasonable" (UCR) fees that various insurance plans have established. Please be aware that our financial arrangement is with you, our patient, not your insurance company. Should there be a dispute related to the service, the settlement of the dispute is between you and your insurance carrier. The ultimate responsibility for the services provided to you is yours.

CEREC Technology is revolutionizing dentistry.
CEREC is a computer-aided design and ceramic restoration system that can add a new level of patient convenience never before available. In a single patient visit, the Doctor can design, fabricate, and place an incredibly esthetic ceramic restoration without the need for impressions, temporaries.
CEREC allows you to have total control of your restoration with minimal tooth destruction. Bonded CEREC restorations have incredible durability and strength, and can typically be produced in an hour and a half or less.

No Fear Dentistry

For our more fearful patients, we offer several options to ease the pain and anxiety associated with a regular dental appointment.

1. Conscious Sedation: We offer the use of some mild sedatives along with Nitrous Oxide as means to alleviate the stress related to your dental visit. This allows us to treat a lot of patients who were unable to get any dentistry due to anxiety or a bad experience in the past.

2. The Wand: This is a computerized option that delivers anesthetic without the pain some feel are associated with needles. It is a perfect solution for children and the fearful patient.

3. PRRs and other preventive services: The aim of this service is to prevent problems before they occur. The routine use of computerized digital dental x-rays allows us to find problems much earlier than conventional x-rays. PRRs or posterior restorative resins are done without the need for anesthetic and without causing any discomfort to the patient. This has saved many of our patients from needing much larger restorations and allowed them to keep their teeth healthier with complete comfort.

4. Our initial complete exam is extremely comprehensive. This allows us to understand and alleviate any fears you might have. It also allows you to meet the doctor for a full hour where you get to discuss all different issues regarding your oral health and overall health. This visit will build a long lasting bond and ensures that we are treating you as a person. It also allows you to understand dentistry better. This mutual understanding is the most important step towards better oral health. Esthetic Restorations/Cosmetic Dentistry

Our office offers a full esthetic evaluation upon request. We offer ZOOM Bleaching and home bleaching options, CEREC restorations, Composites, Veneers and many other services to allow you to have the best smile you can have. This is offered as a complete solution to your oral health. Although a lot of dentists focus on esthetic dentistry, we only offer it in combination with your complete oral care. This is why most patients have to go through our complete and thorough oral examination which then allows us to discuss esthetic solutions that will fit with your oral health.

Digital X-rays

Digital technology uses a fraction of the radiation exposure of traditional dental. It is immediately captured via computerized record system that is easily viewed by both the dentist and the patient. It offers a great ability for the patient to better visualize and understand any areas of concern. This technology also offers intraoral color pictures of the patients teeth to help educate the patient of their current dental conditions.
